Jewel Box Garden

I have always loved little courtyards and secret gardens.
Living in Charleston, SC, I loved going down all the streets to peek in the gates and see all the courtyards and gardens.
We have a small secret courtyard at our house; It is probably my favorite thing about our house.

I saw this bathroom in Domino magazine a while back and thought it was adorable.
I have been looking for inspiration for a bathroom design idea that would fit my little girl.
(secretly, I want this fun bathroom.)
I think we would both love it!

Everything looks better served with silver.

Sunshine

This day is lovely!
I have needed to see the sunshine and feel the warmth on my skin.

love letters

I got a love letter yesterday.
It made my heart melt, it made me proud.
It was pure and true.
My 3 year old wrote mama heart stella. In her sweet, young, left-handed handwriting.

A child's view

My little girl has become taken with the camera.
When I started going back on photographs she took, I was amazed at what I found.
The only thing I showed her is what button to push.

This is the year I decided to let my 3 year old have some say so in how things are decorated for Christmas.

I thought I would take baby steps and let her start with the little tree in her room.  She could pick and choose ornaments as she pleased and hang them any way she wanted.

I thought I would have to rearrange things once she was done. You know, to make it look better. But her tree couldn't have been better.

I would have made it way too organized and balanced because I am always trying to make it the perfect tree that ends up looking a little stiff.

Her tree is wildly unbalanced and fun!
